This joint solo exhibition series brings together two distinctive, artistic voices uniting across contrasting mediums; the immersive realm of digital artistry by Damien O’Rourke and expressive language of abstract seascape painting by Tony Lock.

Tony Lock:

A passionate creator of seascape paintings that unapologetically explore texture, colour and elements of abstraction. I work in acrylics, typically building on heavily textured foundations with many layers of paint and completed using subtle glazes to produce work that has impact and hopefully transports the viewer to their own ‘sense of place’. I strive to create bold and colourful paintings inspired by 20+ years spent at sea in a small yacht, sailing more that 60,000 nautical miles around the UK + Ireland, the Mediterranean, Africa and the Caribbean, including six trans-Atlantic crossings.

Damien O’Rourke:

Creating digital art is a journey into the unknown, a process of giving form to feelings and capturing them. My work, which varies from one piece to the next, is a direct reflection of this exploration. I'm not bound by a single style or technique; instead, I allow the subject matter or a particular emotion to dictate the final form. My pieces range from landscape paintings to cities, from Giraffes to trains leaving the station. I sit down at a blank canvas, and I start drawing what I feel at the time or what I have been influenced by visually. I call my exhibition Reflections because I want people to not just see what is there but to reflect on what they see or feel about the picture. Certain pictures I create contain hidden meanings, while others have hidden visuals; some are designed to guide the viewer's perspective, whereas others leave interpretation entirely open.
