THERESE TIERNEY

All my life I have had a passion for art, particulary painting as it has always sparked my curiosity. As my children grew up, I decided to go back to further education so as to develop my skills as an artist. Since then I have worked to further my development by working with other artists and experimenting with my own style. I have come to realise, I mostly enjoy scenes that peak my interest as my subject matter. I try to capture a sense of movement or timelapse in my work to signify how a moment in time is just that and rarely stays the same within our memories. When I begin to see the subject emerging in my paintings, I allow myself a lot more freedom of expression as sometimes I like to surprise myself with the outcome.
