‘Lost in the Moment’ Colleen Quinn & ‘My Artistic Journey’ Mary Wilson
Solas Art Gallery is proud to present two Solo Shows by local Artists Mary Wilson & Colleen Quinn. Opening Friday 28th September at 7.30pm.
The show will be opened by Paul Williams, award winning crime journalist, author, broadcaster and proud native of Ballinamore.

Leitrim based artist Colleen Quinn is a native of Chicago, Illinois, USA. She received her formal training from the University of Illinois in Chicago and received her Bachelors of Fine Art Degree studying life drawing, painting, sculpture and Graphic Design.
As a realist painter favouring pastel, and mixed media she expresses, “As an artist sometimes we paint a part of our soul. It is such a powerful means of communication.” For Colleen it has healed, formed relationships, made emotional connections and started conversations that created opportunities.
Her paintings are about life, emotion and relationships. They have many inspirations. This exhibition ‘Lost In The Moment’ celebrates life, relationships and all things rural.

Mary’s work are individual snap shots of things she has observed and sketched, taken photographs or even on occasions a bringing together components taken from many scenes along with a little artistic licence culminating in a fantasy.
The subtle colour and texture differences brought about by the changing seasons and light levels, all this and much more is observed and noted mentally, at times without realising, this becomes a priceless factor in the creation of a picture.
A lot of her work is done in her studio but when the opportunity presents itself she is at her happiest on location.
Mary has stated that if any of her work goes some way towards bringing you as much pleasure as its creation has brought her; she will be very happy and fulfilled.
